Local Plan 2040 Draft Plan - Strategy options and draft policies consultation

Representation ID: 4489

Received: 31/08/2021

Respondent: Mr Andrew Murray

Representation Summary:

Table 1.1: Forecast Reference Case Volume-Capacity Ratios at Selected Locations clearly highlights that the concentration of development in the Local Plan 2040 to the south of Bedford along the A421 corridor is NOT SUSTAINABLE and will severely impact residents in the south of Bedford, and will cripple links into the town centre. It illustrates that the road systems north of Bedford have capacity to receive development along the A6 north of Bedford. It is clear the selected sites for the Local Plan 2040 will not benefit the town, or the Oxford-Cambridge Arc and will make Bedford a place to avoid.
