Local Plan 2040 Draft Plan - Strategy options and draft policies consultation

Representation ID: 5211

Received: 03/09/2021

Respondent: Mr Peter Norris

Representation Summary:

The acceptance of a disproportionate new housing requirement by the Borough Council compared to all adjacent authority areas was not apparent during the 2030 LP consultation but is now. This brings into question the fundamental planning objectives for the whole of the proposed 2040 LP. It is wrong to assume that all was well following the 2030 LP consultation when there is an enduring inconsistency in how Bedford Borough have determined a higher build requirement than all neighbouring authorities. The anomaly should be urgently investigated and corrected before the 2040 LP process proceeds.
