The HMG standard method for calculating housing need is wrong and massively overestimates the housing to be built in the Borough. BBC have already developed housing at three times the national average and now this calculation method increases the rate of development even higher. I appreciate that BBC have to follow HMG rules, but wherever possible BBC should fight against the use of the standard method as being appropriate. HMG should apply their "Levelling Up" principles and develop elsewhere before forcing yet more development on BBC.
