Bedford Town Football Club have made submissions into the call for sites for the redevelopment of the football ground to include a Hotel site. This would be used to support the football club on match days and be available for visitor accommodation.

The issues and options plan makes reference to further evidence on the matter and the need for visitor accommodation.

Policy 7s directs hotel accommodation to Urban Areas…or well related to settlement envelopes. However some hotel accommodation can be provided in other locations and support existing facilities. Therefore some rural locations can be expected to be required to provide for visitor accommodation and the exception test in Policy 76 should be deleted.
