Land to the east of the main built area would likely create significant traffic using the already congested High St. Low lying land at risk of flooding.

The land proposed to be developed at site 332 is currently good quality agricultural land and development of such is against government policy. Further New Road is constantly being used for parking for those wishing to use the canal, there is already congestion as a result and the new development will make this much worse. Surely it is better to develop brownfield sites than to build on good agricultural land?

This site is on a flood plain and so should not have homes built on it which would be at serious risk of flooding. This site is currently rich agricultural land where crops are grown. Building on agricultural land goes against government policy. There are no footpaths or cycle paths on New Road and so there is no safe way for pedestrians or cyclists to leave the site safely. A new site off New Road would cause congestion on this road, which has already suffered with congestion arising from poor parking by visitors to the riverside.
