The Oxford Cambridge Arc should be scrapped. No council should accept being bullied into a rushed response because of this ridiculous scheme.

The Oxford Cambridge Arc is not sustainable development and should be scrapped. 1M new houses is an outrageous proposition - especially when there are 1M unbuilt houses in the country that already have planning permission. The focus should be on getting these built before any new applications are approved.

Well, is it 1M houses or isn't it? We know the scale of this proposal and it's both unacceptable and unsustainable.

This is a joke: development on this scale can never be sustainable.

The natural environment doesn't need "enhancing" - it needs to be left alone. The whole idea of the Arc is so out of step with current thinking on climate change and current ambitions for the environment that it beggars belief. Time to start again.

You cannot create a "greener, more sustainable, more attractive and prosperous place to live" if you build on all the land. You might make a few developers and landowners prosperous but not the rest of us: we will all be living in a less green, less sustainable and less attractive place.

Why don't you stand up to the government over this nonsense? Or is that you are just happy to toe the line and allow our town, our countryside and our environment to be destroyed? Why did you sign-up to the Oxford Cambridge Arc in the first place? Your motives are really questionable - including about the East West rail link and the location of new stations. You use the phrase "joined-up thinking" but you seem incapable of putting it into practice.

If you must have any one of them 2a is the best option because it concentrates development around the transport infrastructure. It also completes the Wixams development and avoids new settlements in the open countryside.

Your biggest opportunity by far is to concentrate development in urban areas so that people can live and work within walking or cycling distance. Development in the villages can only ever be at odds with sustainability. Focus your attention on fibre broadband to the premises in all the villages so that more people can work successfully from home.
