Please refer to my response to 1.1.
The BBC public Issues and Options leaflet in August 2020 was MISLEADING and FLAWED as it showed the Brown option as urban development, making good use of brownfield and under-used land. This included my parish of Staploe – there is no brownfield or under-used land in our parish – it is all high quality agricultural land and is classed as open countryside. Our whole parish is classed as open countryside for planning purposes. Our three tiny hamlets are not even classed as a small settlement in the Local Plan 2030 definition (6.21) and we are therefore defined as open countryside.
The urban development option was the most popular choice in this consultation and the popularity of the urban option in the issues and options paper has been an important influence in developing the options selected by the Borough Council. I believe this has COMPROMISED THE VALIDITY OF THE CONSULTATION as those responding would logically propose development on brownfield or under-utilised land over greenfield sites.
