However I note with concern and disappointment that the Borough has decided not to challenge the increase its housing target based on the discredited Central Government 2014 methodology for determining demand for new housing. Following the Covid 19 pandemic there have been significant consequences for the change in working patterns with much greater focus on working from home, with a potential risk that forecasts based on the current algorithm result in an excessive estimate of housing demand.
