The area is already over developed. The roads were built for 1930s traffic and are not suitable for the heavy use they have now let alone anymore.

The whole nature of Kempston Rural is being changed making it an Urban environment. There is still plenty of scope for development in Kempston Urban but I suspect that for the developers it is cheaper and more profitable to rip up farm land. This plan like so many has all the platitudes of a great marketing exercise which will destroy the character of this wonderful rural environment for profit of a few. It will not be long before KR parish will be yet another faceless over crowded, unimaginative development.

These plans go over a current Public footpath leading through the new Marston Vale Forestry project.
A public right of way which would be urbanised and therefore losing its appeal to be used for walks to improve conditions for mental and physical health.
We need to keep more Bedfordshire's green spaces
The area of farmland behind The Chase is inhabited by Deer, Muntjac, Rabbits, weasels, Woodpeckers and foxes.
Housing and traffic would completely urbanise an area known as Kempston "Rural". The infrastructure for schooling, doctors surgeries and personal services is already stretched to the max

This site is building on a green belt between Wootton and Kempston the only bit we have left following fields road development on the south side and WPC NP on the north
Building here is reducing the green belt we have between Kempston and Wootton. Already we have the devastating effect of the Wootton neighbourhood plan on our green belt around Wootton and now this . For those of us living between the edge of Wootton and Kempston we feel we are being closed in on. Another school I understand is to be built here also, absolutely ridiculous as one was not long built up near Lidl only quarter of a mile away! Yet the old Kempston middle school was shut and is just derelict. The whole thing is sickening what is happening to Wootton and surrounding areas yet north beds is completely unbuilt on - you are ruining our area the traffic is increasing so much on our ‘rural’ roads in keeley and wood end already it’s truly devastating to us. You are putting a large building area the other side of the A421 making the south side of Wootton an ugly mass of housing. You and our Wootton parish council seem determined to ruin the only nice part of Wootton/Kempston we had left

I wholeheartedly agree with development of wet woodlands, planting trees, green spaces for the community and pedestrian/cycle paths. What I don't agree with is putting a primary school on a wholly inappropriate site with inappropriate infrastructure to accommodate it.
This area has old narrow roads and a notoriously dangerous corner where a number of narrow roads meet and you are proposing to substantially increase the amount of traffic.
We also have three other primary schools less than 1/4mile from this site, if there is a need for more school places then surely extending those schools is a better option?

Having recently moved from an urban development in favour of rural living, I am saddened to hear of the complete urbanisation plan of a Kempston "Rural".
The fields behind The Chase are a haven for wildlife: deer, foxes, muntjac, birdlife. There's also a public footpath in to the Marston Vale conservation area which is used by surrounding residents.
The Ridge Road would struggle to support the increase in traffic and alteady stretched services would be stretched further. Bedford's Green spaces make it a desirable location to live...we cannot continue on this path of building on every inch of spare land.

The section for the Bedford and Milton Keynes Waterway should be developed early in the plan.

I feel this proposed development will destroy out rural way of life and cause devastation to the wildlife in the Marston Woods of Button Ramsey and The Kill. The area is already being overdeveloped causes more traffic in a rural area.

This development of Kempston "Rural" will destroy natural habitats and completely change the feel of the area. I moved here a year ago from Welwyn Garden City to live a rural lifestyle. The building works will go on for years impacted our life and changing the privacy we have in our garden. The development will impact the house prices and infrastructure and schooling for new families has not been throught through. No new secondary school, creating so many houses in a rural area will drastically change its nature. This is part of the forest of Marston Vale.

This in effect expands the edge of Bedford by approx. 0.5 miles beyond the current bypass.
That road then stops being a bypass and becomes a congested road within the town.
The new development / estate is very unlikely to have sufficient facilities to be self contained and is in reality an estate on the edge of town.
Although the area is currently has all these problems, this expansion makes it 3 times worse.
