The council should prioritize the creation of hedgerows in any development over the use of fencing.
Especially if edible planting is used in places.
Maintenance is an ongoing cost but in exchange the citizens will have a delightful site and also be more personally engaged with their environment through wildlife diversity and local foraging opportunity.
