Respondent: Mr Mark Wooding

Representation Summary:

Additional 100 houses will have a significant impact on the volume of traffic and road noise in a rural setting.Site is located on an existing "A600 Rat-Run" from Wixams to the A600 at Cotton End - Raising safety fears in the absence of speed cameras.
Other sites proposed for development in the village which should be prioritised first as they are better served by the local road network eg : Luton Road / Duck End. This site was also earmarked as a "Natural Burial Ground" - Town and Parish Councils should stand firm and reject this change of use application

Representation Summary:

This land was designated for a burial ground, have the planners had the wool pulled over there eyes. Cotton End Road is to narrow for all the extra traffic generated by new large devopments. Heavy builders plant vehicles will have a detrimental effect on the village. Village life, history and culture being damaged by over development. Still plenty of development land at Wixams etc to expand. Over development effects the well-being of current village residents.

As for this proposed development on this site, will it be the same planning committee.who allowed this site to become a natural burial site.As for the chair lady who said wouldn’t it be nice to have flowers rather than crops, I suppose this time, wouldn’t it be nice to look at a 16 floor tower block, instead of a flood plane.
Aka wasent the wool pulled over your eyes.

Representation Summary:

Filling in large areas of countryside within the parish would change the whole nature of the village. Many, if not the majority of, people come to live in Wilstead because of the amenity offered by green spaces within the village as they no longer wish to live in urban areas covered by concrete.
