Local Plan 2040 Draft Plan - Strategy options and draft policies consultation

Representation ID: 5058

Received: 02/09/2021

Respondent: Mr Ian Nicholls

Representation Summary:

The acceptance of long distance commuting using rail, road and air needs to be altered. Rail developments can encourage more commuting by making stations more accessible. Any gain in reducing travel time along the railway will be offset by commuters willing to spend that gain time in getting to the station. Station location can add to suggestion so any railway policy needs to break from the Victorian concept of the urban centre station.
