Bedford Borough Local Plan 2040 Plan for Submission

Representation ID: 9334

Received: 28/07/2022

Respondent: Mr Tom Pearce

Representation Summary:

While the EEH strategy is commendable, despite the words used by the Council the opposite appears to be being aimed for: carbon is being introduced on a long-term basis by persuing the most carbon-intensive build option for a rail project which will can only waste energy for its life-time due to excessive gradients, at the same time limiting the maximum freight that can be transported. Not demanding this to be electric from day 1 is also not in agreement with the strategy. All this will also increase the already apalling traffic situation around Midland Road.
