Wilstead had already had Wixam built within its boundaries! Why not just make Wixam bigger rather than overwhelming Wilstead village. The volume and density of house proposed will impact negatively on roads, overwhelm strained existing resources, such as dentists, GP and school places. The fields are used for recreation, dog walking and play which will affect a great many people in the village if this space is built on.

ID 2326 includes a small wood adjacent to Luton Road. The houses on Reid Court back onto this. The wood and the most of the rear gardens of the Reid Court houses are designated as a Wilstead Village Open Space, Policy AD40. This designation imposes planning restrictions on the houses and wooded area. The need for the village open spaces has not changed and therefore the wooded area should not be included in the ID 236 designated area.

This proposal seriously compromises a wildlife site of nature conservation importance. The siting of housing adjacent to to important sites such as these and loosing their agricultural buffer, will inevitably damage them and lead to biodiversity loss. This proposal will also destroy a designated 'Important Open Space'.
Over this site generally there is a wealth of wild flowers, mammals and insect life to numerous to mention here which are threatened species.

This proposal surrounds a site of nature conservation importance and includes areas that help protect this site. If developed it would harm Bedford Borough's aims in developing and protecting wildlife diversity.
From the village prospective it includes an important open open area and village break.

Site is far to big for the infrastructure of the Village, especially the roads. It is insensitive and disrespectful to the residents of Wilstead to have to accept developments of this size. Swamping the village with huge housing sites would basically destroy the history and heritage of the Village. Housing developments are already in process in areas surrounding Wilstead, at neighbouring Wixams, Shortstown and Cardington. The newly created Wixams development seems to have plenty of scope to expand further. Creating brand new villages and towns doesn't then effect existing communities, people moving to new areas will know what to expect.

Building here would cause disruption to the inhabiting wildlife, it is close to conservation area and involving removing/relocating significant amount of trees thus affecting the areas biodiversity.
Also already some flooding here would be made worse with more housing due to type of soil and current drainage.
