The emerged options depend too heavily on the developments of new settlements especially Dennybrook which is proposed to be built on high grade agricultural land and reduce the capacity for food production in this area. The high dependence on new settlements can hinder and delay the new housing numbers needed and is a risky strategy. The location Dennybrook is on the extremities of the Borough and would benefit St Neots and not Bedford town centre . Bedford town centre is in desperate need of rejuvenation, Dennybrook would deprive the Bedford the opportunity of this happening.
